Events & Seminars

Below you will find a list of both Seminars, and Events, that we feel you might find interesting.

  • Seminars: are special educational events that are put on by The Museum of the American Cocktail, in various cities across the country. Usually you are able to register online via PayPal if you want to attend one of these.


  • Events: are events that are usually being offered by other organizations which the Museum is either attending, involved with, or we otherwise think you might be interested in knowing about.

Upcoming Seminars:

The Museum offers a series of entertaining and informative mixology presentations given by guest mixologists from around the world who share their special talents, techniques and stories with participants. Cocktails and hors de oeuvres will be served during the hour and a half session. The fee for most seminars is $45 in advance. Seminars fill quickly so please REGISTER ONLINE IN ADVANCE to secure your place.

The Museum of the American Cocktail supports responsible drinking. Make appropriate plans if you are attending a seminar. Do not drink and drive.

A culinary and cocktail festival, allows the connoisseur or amateur to fully experience (taste, see and learn about) cocktail culture in New Orleans and around the world. The event?s annual components are Spirited Dinners, a Seminar Series Cocktail Hour, Cocktail Luncheons, walking tours of the French Quater, and classic and contemporary cocktail parties.

We are pleased to announce that The Museum of the American Cocktail (MOTAC) will open the doors to its spectacular new home in New Orleans this July. The unique-and-expanded exhibit, designed by Curator, Ted ?Dr. Cocktail? Haigh, features two hundred years of cocktail history - vintage cocktail shakers, Prohibition-era literature, music, bar tools, and exciting cocktail memorabilia from the collections of the Museum?s friends and founders.

A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held on Monday morning July 21st, 10:30am following the Tales of the Cocktail event. We hope that many of you will remain in New Orleans on Monday morning to join us for this very special occasion! Our MOTAC sponsors are welcome to display or serve their product. Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres will be provided by Cafe Adelaide. We will also be open during the Tales of the Cocktail event for those who would like to visit during the weekend. (Open Mon-Sat 10 to 7, Sunday 12 to 6.)

The museum is located inside the Southern Food & Beverage Museum at the Riverwalk Marketplace, (Parking for the museum is convenient to Riverwalk?s right entrance, adjacent to Julia Street, where there is escalator and elevator access.)
