The Museum of the American Cocktail
World Cocktail Week World Cocktail Week 2010
Press Release

World Cocktail Week® will be celebrated this year from May 6 – 13th with fundraising events planned in cities around the world.

World Cocktail Week® was established to promote better understanding and appreciation of the art of the cocktail and its history, and responsible drinking. The date commemorates the first definition of the term Cocktail in print in the 1806 edition of The Balance and Columbian Repository. The WCW fundraiser also raises much needed revenue to help pay for museum operating costs throughout the year and for our mixology series. Museum sanctioned WCW venues using the MOTAC Seal are expected to donate at least 10% of proceeds from their event to the Museum. We are very grateful for this support.

The WCW celebration at the museum will be held on Thursday, May 13th from 5 to 8 pm and is sponsored this year by Glazers Distributors. Come sample some of the best food from New Orleans' finest restaurants, fabulous cocktails from renowned mixologists, and great music of course! And Chris McMillian and Dale DeGroff will be there again to make the Worlds largest Fire & Ice Mint Julep! All proceeds will go towards supporting the Museum and its mixology series. Tickets for the New Orleans event are available here. Below, you will find video and images from last years celebrations, For questions on how you can participate in this years email us at info@MuseumOfTheAmericanCocktail.org.
